Beachcomber Stumbles Upon Cocaine Cache on German Coast

A routine walk along the Baltic Sea shore in Heiligenhafen, Schleswig-Holstein, took an unexpected turn when a beachgoer discovered a suspicious package last Tuesday.

The well-wrapped parcel, found near the lighthouse at Am Hohen Ufer, contained approximately 20 kilograms of cocaine.

Authorities estimate the street value of the drugs to be nearly one million euros.

The Hamburg Customs Investigation Office has taken charge of the case, working to unravel the mystery of the package's origin and how it washed ashore.

Police have issued a stern warning to the public, urging them not to touch or remove any similar findings due to potential health risks and legal consequences.

This incident follows a larger cocaine discovery on the North Sea island of Borkum in April, where nearly a ton of the drug was found.
