Brantner and Banaszak Lead Germany's Greens

Published: 2024-11-16

Franziska Brantner and Felix Banaszak have been elected as the new leaders of Germany's Green Party.

Brantner, a member of the party's Realo wing, received 78% of the votes, while Banaszak, from the left wing, secured a stronger 93%.

Their primary task is to revitalize the party's standing ahead of the upcoming Bundestag elections.

Brantner emphasized the need for increased investments in Germany, criticizing the idea of austerity when resources are already lacking.

Banaszak, known for his humor and emotional speeches, highlighted the importance of empathy and social improvements.

Both leaders aim to steer the Greens towards a more dynamic and hopeful future, countering criticisms and preparing for a robust election campaign.
