Ex-Hurricane Kirk Approaches Germany

Published: 2024-10-09

Germany is bracing for severe weather as Ex-Hurricane "Kirk" approaches Europe.

Originally a Category 4 hurricane, "Kirk" is expected to weaken but still bring significant storms to parts of Germany by mid-week.

The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of intense storm conditions, with heavy showers and thunderstorms anticipated across the country.

Wind speeds could reach up to 85 kilometers per hour in lowland areas, with even stronger gusts in higher regions like the Black Forest.

The storm is expected to bring mild temperatures, potentially reaching 20 degrees Celsius, but also significant rainfall, particularly in the northwest.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as the storm progresses.
