The latest Insa poll reveals a challenging landscape for Germany's Free Democratic Party (FDP), as it falls below the critical 5% threshold needed to remain in the Bundestag.
Currently polling at 4%, the FDP risks losing its parliamentary presence, a situation it last faced between 2013 and 2017. Meanwhile, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) has seen a slight increase, now standing at 19%.
The poll, conducted by Insa for "Bild am Sonntag," surveyed 1,202 individuals and reflects the political climate following a recent knife attack in Solingen.
Other major parties, including the CDU, SPD, and Greens, have maintained their positions, with the CDU leading at 31%.
These results highlight the volatile nature of German politics as the country approaches its next election cycle.
