In response to Germany's economic slowdown, Economy Minister Robert Habeck is proposing a new investment fund, the "Deutschlandfonds," aimed at revitalizing the economy.
This fund is designed to support businesses by covering 10% of their investment costs, such as purchasing new machinery.
The initiative targets a wide range of enterprises, from small crafts and startups to large corporations, emphasizing innovation and investment.
Habeck stresses the need for this fund to work alongside reducing bureaucracy and implementing structural reforms.
Previously, a similar proposal was rejected by Finance Minister Christian Lindner due to concerns over increasing national debt.
