A 23-year-old influencer, Atallah Younes, has been sentenced to a six-month suspended sentence for firing a New Year’s Eve rocket into a Berlin apartment.
The incident, which he filmed and shared with his 310,000 Instagram followers, caused widespread criticism.
Prosecutors accused him of endangering lives, but the court ruled there was no intent, citing expert testimony.
Younes apologized to the affected residents, who have since forgiven him.
The video, viewed over six million times, was later deleted.
Critics, including police unions, argue the lenient sentence sends the wrong message about social media stunts.
Younes plans to return to his home country after his release.
