Thousands of locals in Mallorca are protesting against mass tourism, which they say is harming their quality of life.
The demonstrations, organized by the group "Weniger Tourismus, mehr Leben" (Less Tourism, More Life), have drawn significant crowds, with previous protests seeing up to 25,000 participants.
Residents are frustrated by rising living costs, low wages in the tourism sector, and environmental issues caused by the influx of tourists.
While tourism accounts for 45% of Mallorca's economy, many locals feel that only a small percentage benefit from it.
Political leaders, including members of the German Bundestag, have expressed understanding for the protests but warn against discouraging tourists, who are vital for local jobs and infrastructure funding.
