A nationwide strike by cash transport workers, organized by the Verdi union, is set to disrupt cash supplies at ATMs across Germany.

The strike, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, comes amid ongoing wage and contract negotiations affecting around 10,000 employees.

Verdi criticizes the employers' association, BDGW, for failing to present an acceptable offer in previous negotiations.

The union demands higher wages, overtime pay for hours exceeding eight per day, and standardized holiday and Christmas bonuses.

With the strike coinciding with the weekend, cash shortages at ATMs are anticipated to persist into the following week.

The BDGW has expressed strong disapproval of the strike's scale and short notice.
