Authorities in Bavaria are investigating police actions following a fatal knife attack in Aschaffenburg.

The suspect, a 28-year-old Afghan man, had a history of violent behavior and was involved in an incident at a refugee shelter five months prior.

Despite reports of aggression and injuries to his partner, no charges were filed at the time.

After the January attack, which left two people dead, new allegations emerged, including a prior knife assault.

The suspect, who has a record of 22 criminal cases, is now in a psychiatric facility.

Investigators are examining whether police failed to act appropriately in the earlier case.
