A serious accident occurred on the A2 highway in the Minden-Lübbecke district when a truck driver collided with a hazardous materials transporter.

The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon during heavy traffic, causing the 56-year-old driver of the car transporter to be trapped in his cabin with life-threatening injuries.

Fortunately, the hazardous materials trailer remained intact, and the 55-year-old driver of that truck only suffered a mild shock.

The highway was fully closed in the direction of Hanover from 6 PM until midnight, causing significant delays for motorists.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
