Severe snowfalls have wreaked havoc in parts of France and southern Germany, leading to numerous accidents and traffic disruptions.
In France, around 1,750 trucks were stranded on highways, particularly affecting the A36 in Burgundy and the A28 in Normandy.
Many drivers ignored truck bans, causing blockages and severe traffic jams.
Meanwhile, in southern Germany, especially in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, over 380 accidents were reported within 18 hours, with at least 30 people injured.
The snow also disrupted train services, with some routes in the Allgäu region being canceled or delayed.
Despite the chaos, the situation was relatively calm given the conditions, as residents were prepared for the snow.
The German Weather Service has lifted its severe weather warning, predicting warmer temperatures soon, while avalanche warnings remain in place in the Alps due to the snow accumulation.
