The SPD has announced a new election strategy focusing on economic incentives and tax reforms to boost its standing ahead of the 2025 Bundestag elections.
Central to this strategy is a purchase premium for electric vehicles, aimed at revitalizing Germany's auto industry and promoting e-mobility.
The plan also includes a "Made in Germany" bonus for companies and tax relief for the middle class, while proposing higher taxes for the top 1% of earners.
SPD leader Lars Klingbeil emphasized the need for a "posture of victory" as the party trails behind the CDU/CSU in polls.
The SPD aims to position itself as the future leader of Germany, with Olaf Scholz expected to be the frontrunner in the upcoming election campaign.
