The weekend leading up to the festivities will also bring persistent fog and occasional drizzle, with icy conditions possible in the mornings.

Meanwhile, in northern Germany, including Bremen and Lower Saxony, a dense cloud cover and rain are likely to obscure fireworks displays.

Coastal areas may experience stormy winds, making it risky to launch rockets.

Despite the unsettled weather, temperatures will remain mild, ranging from 5 to 8 degrees Celsius, though slightly cooler south of Hanover.
