Recent polls reveal a significant shift in German political preferences.
The CDU/CSU alliance has seen a notable decline, dropping to 27% in the Verian poll and 25% in the Forsa survey.
Meanwhile, the far-right AfD has surged to record highs, reaching 22% and 24% in the respective polls.
This marks a dramatic narrowing of the gap between the two parties, with the AfD now just one percentage point behind in the Forsa poll.
Other parties, including the SPD, Greens, and Left, have shown little change, while smaller parties like the FDP and BSW remain below the 5% threshold.
Economic concerns dominate voter priorities, with nearly half of respondents citing it as the most pressing issue.
The data underscores growing dissatisfaction with traditional parties and a shift in voter trust.
