After weeks of negotiations, they agreed to maintain economic sanctions against Russia while seeking to mitigate their impact, particularly on energy prices.

Additionally, the controversial Verfassungstreue-Check for civil servants will remain but undergo a review, as the SPD insists on its continuation despite BSW's initial opposition.

The coalition talks, led by SPD's Dietmar Woidke and BSW's Robert Crumbach, are nearing completion, with a final decision expected soon.

Both parties aim to finalize the coalition agreement before Christmas, with ministerial positions to be decided subsequently.
