In Germany, political dynamics are shifting as the country prepares for early elections in 2025. According to the latest RTL/ntv Trendbarometer, Chancellor Olaf Scholz of the SPD has gained three percentage points in voter preference, reaching 16%, though he remains behind CDU's Friedrich Merz at 28% and the Green Party's Robert Habeck at 24%.
Meanwhile, the FDP faces a decline in public trust, with only 17% of Germans believing the party is fit to govern, following revelations of its plans to exit the coalition.
The SPD has seen a slight increase in support, now at 16%, while the FDP has dropped to 3%.
These changes reflect a volatile political landscape as parties vie for leadership and public confidence.
