German Schools Face Threatening Emails

Published: 2024-09-09

In recent weeks, schools across Germany have been targeted by threatening emails, causing disruptions and heightened security measures.

In Hamburg, five schools, including the Ida Ehre Stadtteilschule and Gymnasium Johanneum, received such threats, leading to delayed classes as police conducted thorough checks.

Despite the alarming nature of these emails, authorities confirmed there was no concrete danger.

Similar threats have been reported in Berlin, where the state protection agency is investigating the incidents as politically motivated crimes.

Earlier in August, schools in Saxony and Thuringia faced bomb threats, prompting evacuations and searches.

While no real threats have been identified, the connection between these incidents remains unclear.
