Germany Boosts Arms Exports to Israel

Published: 2024-10-24

Germany has significantly increased its arms exports to Israel, with recent approvals totaling €94.05 million since August.

This marks a substantial rise from the €45.74 million reported earlier for the entire year up to mid-October.

The increase follows a period of reduced export approvals earlier this year, amidst ongoing conflicts involving Israel with Hamas and Hezbollah.

The German government, led by Chancellor Scholz, has reiterated its commitment to supplying arms, despite domestic opposition and calls for an embargo.

The decision has sparked controversy, with critics labeling the exports as irresponsible amidst the Middle Eastern conflicts.
