The Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, a massive shopping and entertainment complex, has officially opened in Hamburg's HafenCity.
Spanning an area equivalent to ten football fields, the mall features major brands like Breuninger, the largest Zara in Germany, and a Lego Discovery Centre.
It also boasts a cruise ship terminal and 2,500 parking spaces.
The project, costing €2.45 billion, faced delays and challenges, including construction accidents and water damage.
While some see it as a revitalization model for urban centers, others worry about its impact on local businesses and traffic.
The developers aim to integrate the mall with the city, hoping it will attract millions annually and complement Hamburg's downtown.
