A recent study reveals that a majority of Ukrainian refugees in Germany wish to stay, even beyond the war.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, around one million Ukrainians have sought refuge in Germany.
The study, conducted by several research institutions, found that 59% of those who arrived early in the war and 69% of later arrivals prefer to remain.
Key factors influencing their decision include the ongoing conflict and Ukraine's economic situation.
The refugee population is predominantly female, though the arrival of more men since 2022 has helped stabilize families.
While employment rates among refugees are rising, challenges like limited childcare and bureaucratic hurdles continue to slow their integration into the workforce.
