The Norderelbbrücke on the A1 in Hamburg will be closed from Friday evening to Monday morning for essential welding and repair work.

This closure, starting at 8:00 PM on Friday and ending at 5:00 AM on Monday, is necessary to address structural damages discovered during a recent inspection.

Prior to the full closure, an asphalt damage on the Lübeck-bound lane will be repaired on Wednesday, requiring a partial lane closure.

The weekend shutdown will also allow for additional repairs on the A1, including accident and road surface damage.

During this period, traffic will be redirected via inner-city Elbbrücken.

The Norderelbbrücke, a crucial route for approximately 136,000 vehicles daily, is set to be replaced by a new structure in the future.
