In Henstedt-Ulzburg, several hundred demonstrators gathered to protest against the AfD's state party conference in Schleswig-Holstein.
The protest, which included groups like "Omas gegen rechts" and families, featured colorful banners with slogans such as "Fledermaus statt Nazi-Graus" and "Nationalismus raus aus den Köpfen.
" Despite the heated atmosphere, the event was mostly peaceful, with only minor scuffles reported initially.
However, tensions escalated when some protesters attempted to break through police lines, leading to 38 legal proceedings, including charges of assaulting officers.
The police also issued numerous dispersal orders.
The protest coincided with the AfD's ongoing conference, which includes leadership elections.
The day before, a suspicious liquid was spilled in the conference venue's restrooms, prompting further investigation by authorities.
