Söder Calls for Stricter Deportation Policies

Published: 2024-08-25

In a recent ARD summer interview, Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder emphasized the need for stricter deportation practices for rejected asylum seekers in Germany.

He stated that individuals without asylum claims must leave the country, advocating for more police powers and random checks in public areas to enhance security.

Söder also ruled out any coalition with the AfD, particularly in light of upcoming state elections in Thuringia and Saxony, criticizing the party's tactics as "indecent and disgusting.

" Despite speculation, Söder reiterated that running for Chancellor is not part of his life plan, though he remains open to discussions with CDU leader Friedrich Merz about future leadership decisions.

Söder's comments reflect a broader call for a shift in Germany's migration policy, aiming for a more controlled and beneficial immigration system.
