Germany is facing widespread disruptions in air travel due to ongoing strikes by public service workers.
Airports in Cologne/Bonn and Düsseldorf resumed operations after a one-day strike that affected nearly 50,000 passengers and led to the cancellation of hundreds of flights.
Meanwhile, Munich Airport is bracing for a two-day strike starting Thursday, with significant flight cancellations expected.
The strikes are part of a broader push by the Verdi union for an 8% pay increase, a minimum of €350 more per month, and three additional days off for public sector workers.
The industrial action has also impacted other sectors, including childcare and waste management.
Negotiations are set to resume on March 14, but tensions remain high as unions aim to pressure employers into meeting their demands.
