Berlin Neonazi March Halted by Protests

A far-right demonstration in Berlin's Friedrichshain district was cut short after intense counter-protests.

Around 850 participants gathered under the banner "For Law and Order.

Against Left-Wing Extremism and Political Violence," but were met by over 2,000 counter-demonstrators.

Protesters blocked streets and staged sit-ins, preventing the march from progressing.

Police, deploying 1,500 officers, reported 85 arrests, including individuals displaying banned Nazi symbols.

The heated atmosphere led to clashes, with police using pepper spray to maintain order.

This marks the third such demonstration in Berlin since December 2024, each met with significant opposition.
