Berlin Protests Mark Hamas Attack Anniversary

Published: 2024-10-08

On the first anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel, Berlin witnessed significant demonstrations and subsequent unrest.

Hundreds gathered in Kreuzberg for a pro-Palestinian rally, which included Swedish activist Greta Thunberg.

The demonstration, marked by anti-Israel slogans and bottle-throwing, led to several arrests.

Later, in Neukölln, about 50 individuals set up barricades and ignited tires, resulting in further clashes with police.

Authorities reported that 84 people were checked, and four were temporarily detained.

The events were part of broader commemorations and protests across Germany, reflecting ongoing tensions surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
