Brandenburg's Minister-President Dietmar Woidke (SPD) has called for a tougher stance on migration, including the establishment of a deportation detention center.
With around 4,000 individuals in the state required to leave, Woidke emphasized the need for Germany to know who enters the country and to integrate those who stay.
However, he stressed that those who pose a threat to democracy or public safety must leave.
Woidke also highlighted plans for stricter border controls and faster deportations for those entering through other EU countries.
While advocating for these measures, he condemned racism and right-wing extremism, urging unity and peace.
The proposal has sparked debate, with opposition parties demanding even stricter policies.
