A court in Lüneburg, Germany, has approved the deportation of a 30-year-old serial offender from Guinea-Bissau.

The man, who has been convicted of assault and threats, must leave the country by March 20 and will remain in custody until then.

He was sentenced to one year in prison without parole.

The individual, who has no fixed address, committed numerous crimes, including attacking a bakery worker twice and assaulting a police officer.

The bakery employee required hospital treatment after being bitten on the hand.

The man was also found using a fake Portuguese residence permit and failed to pay for meals at restaurants.

Initially, a deportation request was denied due to procedural issues, but concerns over public safety led to the latest decision.

Lüneburg’s mayor expressed frustration over the earlier ruling, citing fears of further offenses.
