Court Upholds AfD Surveillance

The Administrative Court in Stuttgart has ruled that the domestic intelligence agency can continue to classify the South-West AfD as a suspected right-wing extremist group.

This decision allows the agency to monitor the party under strict conditions, including observing members, phone surveillance, and recruiting informants.

The AfD had challenged this classification, claiming it unfairly disadvantaged them in political competition.

However, the court found evidence of anti-constitutional tendencies within the party, citing statements from members promoting an "ethnic concept of nationality.

" The AfD plans to appeal the ruling, continuing its legal battle.

Interior Minister Thomas Strobl welcomed the decision, emphasizing the importance of protecting democratic values.
