In Dresden, a bus accident during the morning rush hour has left 30 people injured, with two in serious condition.

The incident occurred when a bus, operating as a replacement for tram line 11, veered off its path on the busy Bautzner Straße for reasons yet unknown.

The bus collided with a tree, which it subsequently overran, and then crashed into a parked van.

Emergency services, including firefighters and paramedics, responded swiftly to the scene, declaring a mass casualty incident.

The injured were transported to local hospitals, and the situation remains dynamic as the condition of the patients could change.

The Bautzner Straße has been closed between Albertplatz and Rothenburger Straße, and the recovery operation is expected to last several hours, involving around 100 emergency personnel.
