The German Green Party is facing an identity crisis following a significant loss in the recent EU elections.
Their support dropped from 20.5% in 2019 to just 11.9% this year.
Party co-leaders Ricarda Lang and Omid Nouripour have now presented their analysis of the defeat to party members.
They admitted to several mistakes, including settling for compromise formulas and neglecting issues that most concern voters.
The leadership promised to take people's worries more seriously, use clearer language, and move away from a 'politics of imperative' that might seem prescriptive.
With the next federal election looming, the Greens are determined to learn from this setback and improve their approach.
