In a significant development at the Ukraine Contact Group meeting held at the US military base in Ramstein, Germany has announced the delivery of twelve additional Panzerhaubitze 2000 artillery systems to Ukraine.
This decision was made during a meeting attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, marking his first participation in such an event.
The German Defense Minister, Boris Pistorius, emphasized Germany's commitment to supporting Ukraine amidst escalating Russian attacks.
The artillery systems, valued at 150 million euros, will be delivered in two phases, with six units arriving this year and the remainder next year.
Zelensky's presence underscored the urgency of military support, as he reiterated the need for advanced weaponry and air defense systems to counter Russian aggression.
The meeting also saw the US pledging an additional 250 million dollars in aid, while the UK and Romania announced further military support for Ukraine.
