German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has criticized Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Interior Minister Nancy Faeser for promising quick deportations of Afghan and Syrian criminals.
She stated that such promises may not contribute to security, especially in uncertain times.
Baerbock believes that violent offenders have lost their right to protection but warned against suggesting that deportation is a simple solution.
Scholz reaffirmed his commitment to deporting dangerous individuals, emphasizing that this would happen soon.
Meanwhile, Baerbock also discussed the need for Germany to enhance its defense capabilities, including the planned stationing of American weapons in the country by 2026, in response to Russia's actions.
