A campaign event for the Saxon SPD in Leipzig featuring Defense Minister Boris Pistorius was disrupted by protests on Monday evening.
Approximately 50 demonstrators gathered outside the venue, making it difficult for the event to proceed as planned.
The protests were organized by the group "Frieden schaffen ohne Waffen" and the Sahra Wagenknecht alliance, with attendees holding signs against NATO and U.
S. nuclear weapons.
Inside, the atmosphere was tense, with activists labeling Pistorius a "war monger" and interrupting his attempts to engage in dialogue.
Despite the disruptions, Pistorius managed to share his views on various topics, but he lost his temper when interrupted again while discussing Gaza.
Ultimately, three individuals were removed from the event by security personnel.
