Saxony-Anhalt is witnessing a significant rise in voter turnout for the 2025 Bundestag elections.

By 4 PM, 65.3% of eligible voters had cast their ballots, a sharp increase from 46% at the same time in 2021. This figure excludes postal votes, indicating even higher final participation.

Approximately 1.7 million residents are eligible to vote, with 49,000 being first-time voters.

Voters have until 6 PM to make their voices heard, choosing candidates with their first vote and among 12 parties with their second.

The state has also seen changes in its electoral map, now divided into eight constituencies instead of nine due to population shifts.

Officials emphasize the importance of voting as a cornerstone of democracy.
