Voter turnout in Niedersachsen and Bremen has seen a notable increase compared to the 2021 Bundestag elections.

By midday, 43% of eligible voters in Niedersachsen had cast their ballots, up from 36.6% at the same time in 2021. In Bremen, turnout reached 31.4% by noon, surpassing the 27.2% recorded during the last election.

These figures exclude those who voted by mail.

In Hannover, turnout was slightly lower than in 2021, with 50.7% of voters participating by midday.

Polling stations remain open until 6 PM, with millions of voters expected to make their voices heard.

The election also marks the first implementation of a new electoral reform, emphasizing the importance of the second vote in determining parliamentary seats.
