German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) has retained his position as the most popular politician in Germany, according to a recent survey by Insa for "Bild am Sonntag.
" The poll revealed that 46% of respondents want Pistorius to have significant influence in 2024, a 4% increase from last year.
Bavarian Premier Markus Söder (CSU) ranked second with 38%, followed by Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) and CDU leader Friedrich Merz, both at 32%.
Notably, AfD leader Alice Weidel made a significant leap, rising from 11th to 5th place with 32%.
Meanwhile, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) saw a slight decline, with only 24% favoring his influence.
Health Minister Karl Lauterbach experienced the largest drop, with just 19% support, down 9% from last year.
