A tragic hotel collapse in Kröv, Germany, has left two people dead and several others injured.

The incident occurred late Tuesday night when part of the historic "Reichsschenke Zum Ritter Götz" hotel, built in the 17th century, collapsed while 14 guests were inside.

Emergency responders quickly rescued five individuals, including a mother and her two-year-old child, who were found unharmed.

However, two victims, a man and a woman, died in the collapse.

Rescue efforts continue for two remaining individuals trapped under the debris, with authorities expressing hope for their survival despite the challenging conditions.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the collapse, with recent construction work being a focal point of inquiry.
