Winter Weather Brings Snow and Ice

Published: 2025-02-11

Germany is bracing for a return of harsh winter conditions this week.

The German Weather Service (DWD) has warned of freezing rain, snow, and icy roads, particularly in Lower Saxony, where up to 10 centimeters of snow could fall in some areas.

Temperatures are expected to range from -5°C to 10°C, with the coldest conditions in the northeast.

The south will see more rain, while the north and central regions may experience snow and sleet.

Glaze ice is a significant concern, especially during morning commutes.

Windy and stormy conditions are also forecast for coastal areas and higher altitudes.

The wintry weather is expected to persist through the week, with only brief sunny spells along the Baltic Sea.
