Germany has seen a significant drop in ATM explosions this year, with several states reporting fewer incidents.

In Rheinland-Pfalz, cases fell by 50% compared to last year, while Niedersachsen recorded a similar decline.

Saarland and Bremen also reported fewer attacks, aligning with a nationwide trend.

Authorities credit the decrease to enhanced security measures by banks, such as dye-staining systems and reduced cash in machines, as well as intensified police investigations and cross-border cooperation.

Despite the progress, the damage caused by these crimes often exceeds the amount stolen, highlighting the ongoing need for vigilance.
