Starting Monday, August 5, Brandenburg will participate in a week-long speed enforcement campaign known as the "Blitzermarathon.
" The police in Potsdam announced that this initiative aims to combat speeding, a leading cause of traffic accidents.
The campaign is part of a broader European effort called "Operation Speed," which focuses on increased traffic monitoring.
In April, a similar operation was conducted in Brandenburg, where speed checks were carried out at 131 locations.
Last year, the state recorded 74,037 traffic accidents, with speeding and insufficient safety distance being major contributors.
Authorities hope this initiative will raise awareness and improve road safety.
