Early this morning, several climate activists attempted to disrupt operations at Hamburg Airport, but police intervened before they could reach the runway.
Officers noticed a group of cyclists near the airport, and when the activists spotted the police, they fled.
Four individuals were apprehended, while one escaped.
The suspects were found with equipment suggesting a planned blockade, including bolt cutters, vests, posters, and a sand-resin mixture.
Despite the attempted disruption, airport operations remained unaffected.
This incident follows recent protests at other airports, including Leipzig/Halle, Frankfurt, and Cologne/Bonn, where activists successfully halted flights for several hours.
