A man was arrested in Berlin-Spandau on suspicion of being a former RAF terrorist.

Initially thought to be Ernst-Volker Staub, authorities now believe the suspect is Burkhard Garweg.

The arrest followed a tip-off from a member of the public who claimed to recognize Staub on a train.

Despite the arrest, the suspect's identity remains unconfirmed, pending a DNA test.

The search for Garweg and Staub has intensified since the arrest of their accomplice, Daniela Klette, in February.

The trio, linked to the disbanded Red Army Faction, is wanted for multiple serious crimes, including attempted murder and robbery.
