Severe Storms Devastate Germany

Published: 2024-08-04

Germany has been hit hard by severe storms, particularly affecting regions in North Hesse, Franconia, and parts of the Harz Mountains.

In Trendelburg, over 150 liters of rain fell in just a few hours, leading to significant flooding and landslides.

Emergency services have been working tirelessly, with around 500 personnel deployed to assist in rescue operations.

Many residents were evacuated using boats, and some were trapped in their vehicles and had to be rescued by firefighters.

The storms also caused extensive damage in Bavaria, where numerous fire department calls were made, especially in Nuremberg and Fürth.

The situation remains critical as cleanup efforts continue and authorities assess the full extent of the damage.
