A powerful storm system moving from southern England to northern Germany is set to bring severe weather to North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) on Wednesday and Thursday.

Meteorologists predict storm gusts reaching up to 100 kilometers per hour, particularly in the northern regions and mountainous areas.

The German Weather Service forecasts strong winds and rain showers throughout the day, with temperatures ranging from 8 to 12 degrees Celsius.

As the evening progresses, the winds are expected to intensify, potentially bringing snow to elevations above 800 meters.

Overnight temperatures will drop to between 0 and 6 degrees.

By Thursday morning, the stormy conditions will persist in areas like Weserbergland and Sauerland, with temperatures falling to as low as 2 degrees in higher regions.

The weather is expected to calm by Friday, with temperatures between 3 and 8 degrees.
