The upcoming Hamburg state election on March 2 is shaping up to be a pivotal moment for the city.
Recent polls show the SPD, led by Mayor Peter Tschentscher, maintaining a strong lead with 32% of the vote, despite a drop from their 39.2% result in 2020. Their coalition partner, the Greens, are projected to secure 18%, also down from their previous 24.2%.
Meanwhile, the CDU is expected to recover from its historic low of 11.2% in 2020, climbing to 17%.
The Left and AfD are both polling at 10%, while smaller parties like the FDP and Volt are unlikely to cross the 5% threshold.
The current SPD-Green coalition is poised to retain its majority, reflecting a preference for stability among Hamburg voters.
However, with shifting voter sentiments, the final outcome remains uncertain.
