A German airbase in Schwesing, Schleswig-Holstein, has become the focus of a suspected espionage operation involving high-tech drones.
Between January 9 and 29, six incidents were reported where unidentified drones hovered over the base, which trains both German and Ukrainian soldiers on the advanced Patriot missile defense system.
Despite deploying advanced jamming systems, the Bundeswehr failed to intercept the drones or identify their operators.
Experts suspect the drones may have been launched from ships in the North or Baltic Sea, with Russian intelligence being a prime suspect.
The incidents have raised concerns about Germany's preparedness against drone threats, as similar sightings have become increasingly common near sensitive sites.
