Authorities in Flensburg, Germany, are investigating potential espionage activities following repeated sightings of drones over the ChemCoast Park in Brunsbüttel.

These high-speed drones, suspected to be of Russian origin, have been observed flying over critical infrastructure, including a floating LNG terminal and chemical plants, since August 8. The drones are believed to be launched from civilian ships in the North Sea, raising concerns about hybrid warfare tactics.

Despite efforts by local police, the drones' advanced technology has outpaced standard police equipment, prompting the involvement of the Bundeswehr for additional support.
