Traffic Chaos Avoided on Eastern Highways

Published: 2024-08-04

The anticipated traffic chaos on eastern German highways during the last holiday weekend in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt did not materialize, according to the ADAC.

While there were more traffic jams than the previous weekend, officials stated it was not chaotic, likely due to many vacationers returning early.

The ADAC had previously warned of potential delays due to holiday return traffic, especially as schools resumed in some regions.

The busiest areas included sections of the A4 near Dresden and urban centers like Leipzig and Magdeburg.

Meanwhile, other regions, particularly in southern Germany, experienced heavy traffic as families began their vacations.

Travelers were advised to check traffic conditions and consider alternative routes to avoid delays.
