The Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig has temporarily lifted the ban on the right-wing extremist magazine "Compact," allowing it to continue publishing under certain conditions.
The ban, initially imposed by Interior Minister Nancy Faeser in July, was based on allegations that the magazine served as a central voice for the far-right scene and incited hatred against minorities.
The court's decision came after "Compact" filed an urgent appeal, questioning the proportionality of the ban.
While the court acknowledged potential violations of human dignity in the magazine's content, it emphasized the importance of press freedom.
The final decision on the ban will be made in the main proceedings, which could take up to two years.
Meanwhile, "Compact" has rebranded itself as "Näncy" and continues to publish similar content, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the ban.
